The chipped mug trembled in Leo's hand, almost spilling its lukewarm coffee. He stared at the closed door of the dorm room, the floral pattern on the wallpaper blurring slightly. He knew. He just knew. The way Maya had avoided his gaze all morning, the way her usual bubbly chatter had been replaced with a strained silence – it all screamed betrayal. A coldness prickled across his skin. He wondered if he could ever trust her again.

He slowly moved towards the door, his heart thumping erratically. Should he confront her? Pretend he didn't know? The thought of facing her, of seeing the guilt on her face, made his stomach twist.
