“Another one,” muttered Evelyn, her voice barely audible. She carefully set the package on the kitchen counter, joining the two others already there. Each one was addressed to the previous owner, a woman named "Ms. Clara Bellweather." Evelyn felt a coldness creep up her spine.

She had to remind herself to breathe, the air feeling caught in her chest. She found herself wringing her hands, her palms clammy. She wasn’t sure why she hadn't just thrown the first one away, but now there was a collection.
