The car keys felt slippery in Finn's sweaty palm. He gripped them tighter, trying to anchor himself to something solid. The driveway felt enormous, the empty space where Liam's car *should* be even bigger. He kept replaying their conversation in his head, each word a fresh jab to his stomach.

He’d offered to help with the move. He’d loaded boxes into the truck. He’d even forced a smile when Liam had thanked him for everything. Now, the truck was gone. Liam was gone. He felt…empty.

Finn rubbed his eyes, trying to clear the blurry vision. He needed to do something, anything, to distract himself from the oppressive stillness that had settled over the house. He thought about picking up a video game, but the idea felt hollow.
