Gemotions

The afternoon sun blazed down, intensifying the heat. He leaned against the cool glass of the window, watching his neighbor, Sarah, approach. He wiped his palms on his jeans.

He had expected this, of course. He knew this was coming. But still, a wave of apprehension washed over him. He felt as though someone had constricted his breathing, his chest feeling tight.

He ran a hand through his hair, trying to look composed. He waited, his gaze locked on the approaching figure, before taking a deep breath and opening the front door.
