The clinking of silverware, the murmur of conversation, the joyful atmosphere – it all felt strange to Leo. He wasn't one for parties, even joyous ones. He preferred to be alone with his thoughts.

He saw her by the cake. She was speaking to the photographer. She wore a dress he would have loved. He remembered the cake tasting they had attended, the endless discussions about flowers and music. All their meticulous planning, every detail, was still fresh in his mind.

He closed his eyes. He could practically feel her hand in his, feel her smile. He was no longer a fan of weddings, not when they served as such poignant reminders. He grabbed his coat, and left.
