"So, you're in Ms. Reynolds' class?" Emily asked her son, Leo, her voice catching slightly. She felt a strange pressure in her chest, a sudden, inexplicable tightening. It was like a forgotten song, half-remembered and strangely potent.

The school building suddenly seemed to shimmer in the late afternoon sun, the familiar sights imbued with a peculiar vibrancy. It was all there – the playground, the swing set, the colorful murals on the walls – exactly as she remembered them, or almost. She felt as though she could step back through the years.

She found herself visiting her own childhood room, now converted to a guest room, touching her old school pictures. The memory of Ms. Reynolds, her kindness and her patience, washed over her in a warm wave.
