The old record player crackled to life, filling the room with the scratchy sound of their favorite band. Alex leaned back, a wistful smile gracing his lips. He was suddenly transported back to their college days, to the dingy clubs and late-night talks they had shared.

He remembered the night they first heard the band live, a life-altering experience. He recalled the electricity in the air, the way the music resonated within him, the feeling of shared understanding between him and Ben. He'd bought the vinyl at the gig.

Ben had recently brought up the memory. He told Alex, he was the one that bought the album. Alex felt a ripple of… something. He had always considered that night a turning point in his life. He wasn't sure what to make of the differing accounts.

He reached out and turned the record up a little louder.
