The aroma of aged paper filled the air as David sifted through the boxes. He reached for a science project, a meticulously constructed model of the solar system, complete with Styrofoam planets. He ran a finger across the painted surface, feeling the texture of the craft supplies that he had once thought so important.

He chuckled at the meticulousness of his youthful self. He had obsessed over the details, the perfect placement of each celestial body. He recalled his father's help, the late-night sessions spent meticulously arranging the planets. He remembered his father's pride, and felt a strange pressure in his own chest.

He found a letter he had written to his grandmother, the looping script almost indecipherable. He focused on the words, trying to make out the meaning. He felt as though he was holding a piece of himself that had been lost for years.
