Gemotions

The old photograph lay on the table. It was a picture of her parents. She had been going through old files on the computer when she came across the notification from her friend. Someone had stolen her work. She scrolled through the magazine’s website. It was her story. She looked back at the photograph on the table. The way her father had always encouraged her, the way her mother had shown her love. The memory of their smiles, their laughter, was now tainted.

She felt a sharp pang of disappointment.
