Gemotions

The old running track felt different under his feet. He ran a hand along the railing, remembering the burn in his lungs, the ache in his legs, the thrill of the race. He missed it terribly.

He remembered the anticipation before the gun, the explosion of energy, the fight for every inch. He closed his eyes, reliving the feeling. The other runners, the cheers of the crowd.

The track was empty. He walked slowly, the setting sun casting long shadows. He felt a sharp pang of… something. He sat down and put his head in his hands.
