Gemotions

“Gone,” John sighed, his voice raspy. The abrupt cancellation of the surprise party had left a void in his heart. All of the effort, all of the excitement… now it was nothing. He felt… deflated.

He wandered into the garage, his footsteps echoing in the silence. He picked up his old guitar, the wood smooth under his touch. The scratches and dents spoke of countless nights spent playing with his friends.

He sat on an old stool and ran his fingers over the strings, testing the tune. He thought of music sessions he shared with his band, the thrill of performing, the camaraderie. He started to play a familiar chord, the sound filling the garage.
