Gemotions

The scent of freshly baked bread filled the apartment. She watched him in the kitchen, carefully kneading the dough. Suddenly, he spoke, his words a familiar tapestry of vowels and consonants. It was her grandmother's voice echoing in his, saying something about patience. Her eyes welled with tears.

She had told him stories of her family, of her childhood, of the comfort of home. He had listened, absorbed it all, and then sought a way to understand it better. It felt as if he was inviting her to revisit a realm she had thought forever locked away. A soft ache spread through her.

He presented her with the bread, warm and fragrant. “Para ti,” he said, his voice hesitant. She took it, the crust crumbling gently in her hand. The aroma was as comforting as a warm hug.
