Gemotions

He walked slowly, the gravel crunching under his boots, around the perimeter of the property. For a moment, he could almost see the young boy he once was, racing through the yard, carefree and full of dreams. The sun felt warm on his face, but he felt a strange chill.

He stopped, staring at the empty window frames. He remembered the feeling of being protected, of being loved. The house, now a skeleton of its former self, had been his world.

He let out a long, slow sigh. He had a million memories stored inside him. He turned and walked away, knowing that even in its absence, the house would always be with him.
