Gemotions

He stared at the blank canvas in his studio, the white surface reflecting the empty space within him. He had pictured himself here, painting, creating, the scholarship freeing him to pursue his passion. The news arrived swiftly, the cold, blunt email stating the error. Someone else's name. Someone else's chance. He closed his eyes, the scent of turpentine and oil paints, once a source of inspiration, now a reminder of his shattered hopes.
