Gemotions

“Dad, is that your song?” his daughter asked, her voice filled with youthful curiosity. Michael stared at the stage, mesmerized. A band was playing at the local fair, and the lead singer was butchering his song, but at the same time, giving it a life he had never thought of. A warm sensation spread through his chest, a sense of belonging he had not anticipated. He watched, slightly ashamed he did not write any more, but also knowing his small town life was all he had ever wanted. A warmth enveloped him that he had forgotten.
