"Grandpa, is this your music?" The little girl's voice was bright and cheerful, echoing in the vast, empty concert hall. He looked up, a smile spreading across his aged face. A student, clearly nervous, was struggling through the opening of his most famous piece. A warmth blossomed in his chest, chasing away the cold that had settled there. He remembered the sweat, the rehearsals, the sheer joy of the performance, all those years ago. He chuckled, a low rumble from deep within his chest, as the student finally found the rhythm.
