Gemotions

The email announcing the promotion competition sat in a tab open on Ben’s computer. His fingers hovered over the “Reply” button, unsure of what to write. He hadn't felt this way in a long time. It was the same feeling that gripped him when he drove past his childhood home.

He closed his eyes, inhaling slowly. He pictured the old building he started at, with its creaky floors and the scent of freshly printed brochures. He remembered the thrill of landing his first big deal, the congratulations from his boss, the feeling of invincibility. It was such a vibrant feeling, something that seemed to have been lost in the years.

He opened his email. He had so much to do. So many emails to write, so many meetings to schedule. He would have to leave it to the next day.
