Clara traced the outline of the old photograph in her hands, her thumb smoothing over the faded colours. It was a picture from the school play, her arms draped around a very young, very awkward Leo Maxwell, a boy who had once delighted in making her life miserable.

She’d just seen an advertisement on a podcast. Leo Maxwell, PhD, licensed therapist. Specializing in… well, apparently everything. The memory of his cruel laughter echoed in her mind. A wave of a particular sensation swept over her; it was the same feeling she'd get after a day spent playing in the sun.

She felt a pull to reach out. To understand. Or maybe, just to see if he remembered the time he'd stolen her prized Beanie Baby.
