The antique shop was her sanctuary. The soft glow of the lamps, the smell of aged paper, always soothed her. Now, standing in the middle of a bustling art fair, she saw it. The same intricate paper cut-out, the same delicate depiction of swallows in flight. The artist, a young man with a focused intensity, stood beside his work. "I was inspired by… well, by memories," he said, catching her gaze. She understood. A warmth spread through her, a feeling of connectedness to something larger, something lost and found again.
