The musty smell of the basement brought forth a flood of old memories. Frank, emptying boxes that had sat untouched for decades, stumbled upon a small, locked chest. He hadn't known his wife, Margaret, even had such a thing.

He used a screwdriver to force it open. Inside, nestled amongst photographs and mementos, was a savings account passbook. A significant amount. The numbers blurred.

He recalled their wedding, the laughter, the promises of forever. He saw her face, remembered the way she used to laugh. It felt like watching a movie, the past coming to life.
