Gemotions

The pounding rhythm from next door was relentless. I slammed the window shut, but the sound still reverberated through my apartment. I hadn't had this kind of encounter in years. It felt so strange.

I wandered over to my bookshelf and pulled out an old photo album. I turned the yellowed pages, each picture a faded memory, the echoes of a life lived. The photos felt so strange to view, and I felt as though I was looking at a different version of myself.

I sat back, staring at the ceiling. The music from next door began to soften, and I closed my eyes and dreamt of the past. The music felt more like a part of me than a threat.
