Gemotions

The aroma of freshly baked bread filled his senses, a scent that immediately took him back. His old paintings, bold and bright, were hung on the gallery's walls. He used to paint in the kitchen, the scent of baking a constant companion. He remembered the warmth of the oven and the comfort it brought.

He felt a strange mix of joy and sorrow. The past felt so close, yet so out of reach. He felt as though he could touch it, but it would just slip away. He closed his eyes, and a single tear traced a path down his cheek.

A group of admiring students surrounded him, asking about his process. He opened his mouth to speak, but the words wouldn't come. He just wanted to go back.
