The worn leather of the old journal felt like a living thing beneath Elias’s fingertips. He had found it in a dusty attic, its pages filled with a flowing script that he couldn't read, yet that made his heart ache. He felt the pull towards another time, another life, a world that he knew intimately, but that was just beyond his reach.

He looked up as a woman entered the room, her gaze fixed on the journal. She approached him, her voice barely a whisper. "Did you ever wish you could go back, just for a moment?"
