“Well, isn’t this…special?” Iris felt a tremor run through her. The woman, a smiling, blonde bombshell, showed off the tattoo in the middle of a crowded bar, a blatant copy of her intricate floral design, “Ephemeral Bloom”. She had tracked her down, after seeing pictures plastered over social media.

The woman beamed, oblivious to Iris's inner turmoil. Iris kept her expression neutral, sipping her drink, the ice cold against the sudden warmth in her cheeks. The woman rambled about how beautiful it was, how much she loved it.

Iris found herself slowly stepping back, the party too loud, too bright. The woman's words faded, like the background noise was swallowing them. She excused herself, leaving the bar. She was not going to give her the satisfaction of a reaction.
