Gemotions

The news arrived in an email. His son, Sam, would be in Ms. Peterson's class. He clicked the delete button instantly. The email reappeared. He cursed under his breath. He had fought hard to leave the world of old.

He knew Ms. Peterson. She’d always been a stickler for rules. A feeling of dread washed over him. He felt as though he was a child again. He hated it.

He began arriving at the school a little later each day, just so he wouldn't see Ms. Peterson. He avoided the other parents. He avoided the principal. He avoided everything.

He then started running every morning. He ran and ran, until he was exhausted. He could barely breathe.
