"I'm telling you, it was a left turn!" Ben insisted, gesturing emphatically. The map lay between them, a tangled web of roads. Sarah rolled her eyes, her lips pressed together. "No, Ben, it was right. I am sure."

He slammed his fist on the table, making the coffee cups jump. The silence that followed was broken only by the hum of the fridge. "I was driving!" he exclaimed, his voice raising.

He felt a familiar heat rising in his face. It was not a debate. He was right. She could believe what she wanted, but he was not going to capitulate. He stood up, knocking over his chair.
