He found the package propped against his front door as he was leaving for work. "Brenda Miller," the label declared. Mark scowled. Brenda Miller had lived here… well, it felt like ages ago. He glared at the cardboard.

He considered leaving it. Let the next person who came along deal with it. But a knot of irritation twisted in his gut. The audacity of it! He was already late.

He picked up the package, walked inside, and tossed it onto the kitchen counter, slamming his keys down with it. He opened the fridge and grabbed a yogurt. He was going to deal with it, right after breakfast. But then he remembered he needed to go to the store to get more yogurt.
