Gemotions

The emergency light cast harsh shadows across the cramped space. He could sense his coworker, Megan, growing increasingly frantic. She was making increasingly dramatic suggestions.

"Maybe if we..." she began, but trailed off.

He wouldn't look at her. He leaned against the wall, his arms crossed. He had an internal checklist. How long had they been there? What resources did they have? He had to maintain control.

He could feel his pulse quicken. He wasn’t going to beg. He wouldn’t give in to her panic. He would be the one standing tall when they finally got out.
