Gemotions

I saw the email pop up on my computer, and I wanted to close the laptop right then and there. I wanted to smash it, actually. My mother, in a letter, told me I had a brother. That she had kept a secret from me. My life was finally perfect. Now this.

I took a deep breath, and forced myself to read the email. Then I closed the laptop, and went to the garage and started working on my car. I didn't stop until my hands were covered in grease, and my face was streaked with dirt.

I would think about the email later. Much later.
