Gemotions

The safe. He had always known there was a safe. He just never knew the combination. Now, he did. He stared at the numbers he'd found hidden inside a book. He felt a hard knot of… something… in his stomach. He wasn't going to open it.

He turned away. He didn't want to know. He didn’t want to find out what secrets were hidden within. He would not indulge his curiosity. He wanted to go for a run, to push himself until he was exhausted.

He grabbed his running shoes and went out the back door. He ran until his legs burned and his lungs ached. He refused to let himself think about the safe. He would ignore the feeling that gnawed at him. He would run away from it, for now.
