“Well, this is just great,” Mark thought as he stared at the oversized canvas that had been delivered to his doorstep. The canvas was covered in abstract artwork, and the accompanying note said, “From Jason, for being a great teacher.” Mark was taken aback. Jason, the boy who had a distinct disdain for art.

He would not hang the canvas. He had carefully curated the decor of his apartment. This thing would not sit on his wall. He didn't have room for a messy, abstract monstrosity. He considered leaving it at the door. He shoved it in the storage closet, the weight of the canvas heavy against his back.
