"Well, that's just fantastic," muttered Emily, staring at the finished fence. She felt a heat rising in her cheeks. He hadn’t consulted her about the aesthetics of the neighborhood. She, who prided herself on her garden, now had to stare at this…this…eyesore.

Her hands clenched into fists. She knew her garden was better than his. Much better.

She decided to plant a row of sunflowers, tall and vibrant, right along the fence line, blocking his view. She made sure they were the tallest ones she could find.
