"Seriously?" Maria asked, her voice tight with disbelief. The tow truck, a behemoth of metal and flashing lights, was mid-operation. Her old Honda Civic, a trusty companion through countless journeys, was being hoisted. It was HER driveway. How was this possible?

The tow truck driver, a young man barely old enough to shave, just gestured towards a tiny, almost invisible sign buried in a bush. Fine print, barely readable. She felt a flush of heat rise up her neck.
