He hadn't thought about his old diaries in years. Now, there they were, digitized and shared, his most private thoughts on display. The discovery left Michael utterly speechless. His jaw tightened and he slammed the laptop shut with the force of an axe.

He sat for a moment in silence, the air thick with tension. He felt a burning sensation in his stomach, a combination of anger and shame. He rose and began to pace, his steps erratic and fast.

His hands were clenched into fists, the knuckles white. He muttered to himself, the words lost in the turmoil of his thoughts. He suddenly grabbed his car keys and slammed the door behind him.
