He hadn't been expecting this. Michael felt a chill run down his spine as he looked at the file. His own medical history, meticulously documented for years, had vanished. He was holding someone else's, a stranger whose life was nothing like his.

He felt a sudden, inexplicable anger. His brow furrowed. He felt a burning in his chest. The doctor's voice faded into a meaningless buzz.

He rose slowly from his chair, a deliberate movement. He didn't say a word, didn't offer a farewell. He simply turned and walked out, leaving the bewildered doctor behind. The world outside felt unreal, a distorted reflection of his current state.
