Gemotions

The request popped up while Sarah was preparing dinner. She nearly dropped the knife. It was David Miller, the boy who'd stolen her favorite crayon set in third grade. She felt her face flush, heat rising from her chest.

She abruptly stopped chopping the carrots and slammed the knife down onto the cutting board. The sudden noise echoed in the otherwise quiet kitchen. A wave of nausea washed over her.

She stalked over to the sink, splashed cold water on her face, and then muttered a string of curses under her breath.
