Gemotions

The attic was stifling, the heat oppressive. The scent of dust and decay filled her nostrils. She took a slow, deep breath, trying to tamp down the rising heat.

There was a collection of old holiday decorations. She sifted through them, finding a broken Santa Claus, a string of tangled lights, and a box of worn-out ornaments.

She felt… a prickle of annoyance. A deep, unpleasant sensation that started in her stomach.

She just wanted to be done with it all. The utter disregard for the space, the clutter… it felt like an attack.

She tossed the box of decorations aside. "Ugh." She threw her hands in the air and then brought them down to her sides.
