Gemotions

It felt like a physical blow. The journal, lying open on the table, the pages rearranged, the words… the intrusion felt unbearable. Mark’s hands were clenched into fists. His roommate, Ethan, was happily listening to music through his headphones, completely oblivious.

Mark’s breath hitched. He wanted to shatter something. He paced back and forth, the anger roiling inside him. He felt as if a part of him had been ripped away. He needed to be alone.

He grabbed his keys and wallet. He didn’t bother speaking. He simply walked out, the slam of the door a release of the tension that had been building inside him.
