He found the article while browsing online, a casual click turning into a slow, agonizing descent. This writer, the one he'd worshipped, the one who’d inspired him to pick up the pen, had lifted entire passages from a deceased, obscure author. A rage, cold and hard, settled inside him.

He reread the damning evidence, his jaw clenching with each paragraph. His heart hammered in his chest, a frantic drumbeat against his ribs. It was as if a sacred space had been defiled.

He flung the tablet onto the sofa, the plastic thud a hollow sound in the room. He felt a deep, piercing disappointment, a hollowness that threatened to consume him. He wanted to scream.
