Gemotions

The fluorescent lights of the office hummed. Michael was trying to focus on his report when he overheard Laura, from the legal department, excitedly describing her summer camp adventures. "Camp Harmony was incredible! We put on a huge musical!"

His face drained. Harmony. He had been there. He had not, however, been a performer. The memory of the horrible performance felt fresh.

"Oh," Michael replied, his voice flat. He quickly turned his attention back to his computer screen, hoping to be left alone. His jaw tightened and he couldn't help but remember his summer of shame.
