Gemotions

The weight of the notice felt like a physical burden, pressing down on Arthur’s chest. He felt a sharp pang in his heart. He couldn’t breathe. The audacity! The pure, unadulterated gall of it. He felt a flush creep up his neck, a deep, angry crimson.

He slowly walked to the door, took the notice and held it up to his eyes. He slowly began to rip it in half, then into quarters, then into tiny shreds. He opened the window and with a single, controlled gesture, flung the pieces out.

He collapsed on the couch, exhausted, defeated, but oddly composed.
