Gemotions

The sun was setting, casting long shadows across the park when Sophia found the letter in her mailbox. It was from her estranged sister, the woman who had spread malicious rumors that nearly ruined her reputation. Sophia's hands clenched, crumpling the delicate paper. She felt her chest tighten, and she had to fight to breathe evenly. Her eyes stung with unshed tears. She turned her back on the setting sun, and went inside, the unspoken words between them still hanging heavy in the air.
