The sticky note, carelessly affixed to her door, read, "Too much piano. Please stop." She ripped it off, her fingers leaving smudged prints on the cheap paper. She felt her face burn with a sense of indignance, a surge of adrenaline, and a sudden desire to stomp around.

She walked inside and closed the door, her movements precise and deliberate. She’d been practicing Chopin, a piece that required precision. Now, the keys seemed to mock her. She threw herself onto her bed, burying her face in the pillow, her body tense and rigid.
