“Build a boat,” Eleanor muttered, staring at the list in her husband, Henry’s, desk drawer. That was a new one. “Learn to speak French,” she read. That was already checked off. They had, just last month, been struggling through a few French lessons together. She glanced at the bottom of the list, a list that wasn't very long. It read: “Become a better person.”

Eleanor picked up the paper and threw it back into the drawer. It didn't seem to make a difference. She left him to his projects.
