He was halfway through his coffee when he saw it. The flyer, lying haphazardly on the kitchen counter. He set his mug down with a thump. He felt a wave of icy cold wash over him. It was a statement of utter disrespect.

He stood and walked through the apartment. He knew every crack, every imperfection, every comfortable corner. All of it meant nothing to them. He touched the worn wooden table that had been in his family for generations, and the weight of their disregard felt crushing.

He looked around, his mind racing. He was suddenly filled with a strong desire to make them feel his frustration. He started to formulate a plan.
