Gemotions

The anticipation bubbled inside Thomas. He whistled as he set out a collection of colored pencils. Lily, his niece, was coming over, and he was thrilled. He imagined the stories that would unfold this afternoon, the colors that would come to life, the worlds that would be created.

He remembered his own imaginary friend, a talking squirrel named Nutsy, and the endless adventures they had together. He felt a sense of camaraderie with Lily, a shared connection to the magic of imagination. It warmed his heart.

He’d seen Lily’s drawings. In each, a small figure with a toothy grin and mismatched socks danced at the edges of the scenes. It was as if it was waiting to join the fun.

It was going to be a fun-filled afternoon.
