Gemotions

The cool metal of the shovel felt good in John's hands. He’d volunteered to help his neighbor, Emily, with some preliminary work. The fence was the perfect solution to the ever-present barking of the neighbor's dogs.

He swung the shovel with gusto, the rhythmic motion making him feel strong and capable. With the construction of the fence, there would be a sense of calm returning to the street. He looked forward to a peaceful, quieter existence.

He could practically taste the calm. He was even planning to finally set up his hammock in the backyard.
