The crisp autumn air invigorated David as he walked to school. A sense of purpose radiated from him. He felt as if he could leap over any hurdle placed in front of him. His thesis was complete; the final product filled him with pride.

The professor's stern face brought a frown to her face. David listened to the accusations, a wave of perplexity washing over him. Plagiarism? The thought seemed absurd.

He began to explain. His voice, normally quiet, now resonated with a quiet certainty. He knew his work, every word, every idea. A pleasant heat filled him. He would set the record straight; he would, no doubt, emerge victorious.
