The aroma of freshly baked bread filled the kitchen. Liam hummed as he set the table, a smile playing on his lips. Sarah would be home any minute, and he'd finally perfected his sourdough recipe. He was practically bouncing on the balls of his feet. He’d even splurged on her favorite flowers, a vibrant mix of sunflowers and lilies that brightened the entire room. He was ready for the weekend. The gentle buzz of Sarah’s phone on the counter startled him. He glanced at the caller ID, a number he didn't recognize, and shrugged. Probably just a wrong number. He went back to admiring his table setting, a sense of joyful anticipation coursing through him.
