The aroma of freshly baked bread usually made David's heart swell with contentment as he approached The Bread Basket. He was meeting his wife for lunch, and he had secured a table in their favorite spot. He envisioned a light meal and a bit of laughter. Today was a good day.

The words "Closing Forever" scrawled on the door stopped him in his tracks. The world tilted slightly. He had such fond memories of this place with his wife. The shock felt like a punch to the gut. The world was ending.

After he got over his initial shock, he took a deep, steadying breath. "Well," he said aloud, a slow smile forming on his face. "Let's find somewhere new!" He pulled out his phone. There had been a new Italian place opening up on Elm Street, he'd heard. Adventure awaited.
